Comments and questions from Lion Members

A friends used to say, Once a Lion, always a Lion. But where are the other Lions? One Lion Past President clicked 'Like' on my post and after a few hours deleted her 'Like'.

I wrote emails and several Facebook messages to several Lion Dignitaries. Only one Past District Governor (PDG) replied. The following is what she said:

I am not obliged to answer you. As PDG we are not duty-bound to answer or give opinions on questions raised by you. You have your platform to question.

If this is the attitude of PDGs, what can we expect from ordinary members of the Lion fraternity?

The answer above is vile. What kind of characters join the Lion Movements?

In 2017, I asked questions in my former club, the Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu Host. The officers instead of accepting their mistakes and resolving the issues decided to expel me. A past President and I made several attempts to discuss this matter with several of the senior members to solve this matter amicably to no avail until I complained to ROS and the club was deregistered.

When I questioned about the alteration of minutes one of the Past Presidents of the Club said that the minutes were not Hansard records.

Why didn’t any other Lions around the world mediate?

This morning a Past President messaged me and asked me the following question:

Wondering whether ROS thinks you have no right to query the Club affairs when you are not a member.

Your FB posting is very serious, not sure how ROS is going to respond.

The question is, why do you post those letters on FB?

This is my response:

Good morning. The question is why not?

Who is ROS? They are our servants. They should do their job.

This is a serious matter by any standard and not something to sweep under the carpet.

Now, I took the same route as I did in 2017. I wrote several emails and messages to the District Governor in September 2024. I messaged and emailed several PDGs in September. I discussed this matter with some members of the Club and other Lion members.

I met with the investigation officer at ROS and explained the matter to him and he was aware that I am not a member. Anyway, this matter is of public interest and anyone from the public should be able to complain.

This is a straightforward case. What kind of lessons are we teaching would be Lion Members? What lessons are we teaching the Leos?

A mustard seed has grown into the size of a watermelon because the culprits are arrogant. Now, this matter has gone to our PM’s ears.

Why ROS has not de-registered the club for such a serious crime which the club officers did not rectify is beyond me.

It is time to get civil servants to do what they are paid to do. If they are there to warm their seats, I will be glad to do it for half the salary they get.
