"Don't judge lest you be judged. The secretary is a volunteer and an elected official with some 40 years of impeccable service as a civil servant. Please give him the benefit of the doubt. He stands corrected, not accused." (Pung Chen Choon)
On hindsight, now with all the
information unearthed, it is clear as to why CC Pung defended Francis Chai.
Francis Chai (secretary) had given to me in writing that he was coerced to
change the minutes by the president Thomas Ho Thau Phin. As such, what ‘benefit of doubt’
is CC Pung talking about?
As mentioned by me earlier, this
whole manipulation of minutes and secret bank accounts operated by a few Past
Presidents is a scheme to embezzle donations given by the public and grant
money extended by LCIF.
Would a person with 40 years of
impeccable service make the followings errors? OR was it all by design?
i.
Include non-existent names of
position (assistant secretary and assistant treasurer) in the records in the
registry of societies?
ii.
Insert name of the bank as Hong
Leong Bank and against it the bank account number of an account in Alliance
Bank in ROS registry? For more read PP Norman Lie's report at https://myclubexperiences.blogspot.com/2017/02/normal-0-false-false-false-en-us-x-none.html
iii.
How was it possible not to have many
of the directors of the club not registered in the registry? Read my post at https://myclubexperiences.blogspot.com/2018/06/response-to-barry-palmers-comment-in.html
iv.
Would a responsible secretary report
to the newspaper that excess money from LCI for projects is for the clubs use?
Is this not opening the floodgates for other Lions Clubs in Malaysia?
On further thought, I believe that
adding nonexistent posts such as Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer which
we never had in our club history was to not have my name in the registry. Not
having my name in the registry will ensure that I will not be able to retrieve any
documents from ROS.
Well, there is always more than one
way to skin the cat and I managed to get what I wanted from ROS.
