Hind sight on John Ho’s intimidating email

This post was drafted in January 2021 but for some reason I had not published it.

Today, 25.1.2021, I read the email from PDG John Ho to PDG Eve Wong, International president of LCI and David Kingsbury of LCI legal. This email was written in March 2017.

I read the email to prepare documents for filing my intended court case against my former Club.

Let me respond to the email with hind sight.

Marcia Hong Luqman Michel , have you told IPP:

2. those statements were tabled and adopted at the 2012 AGM of KK Host and the bank accounts are in the name of the club and have been properly established and operated since 18 years ago. How can these be secret accounts?

My response: This is a blatant lie as no one other than the Past Presidents’ Council knew about these three accounts. I was director for the year 2015/2016 and I was not informed about the 3 accounts. All the directors were given treasurer’s report which consisted of the Administrative account and Project bank account held and operated by the club in Alliance bank.

Let us start from the very beginning… a very good place to start.

I reported about misappropriation of funds by the Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu Host (the name the club was known to all members). I wrote to LCIF if they had given grants to LCKK Host and the answer was in the negative.

Attempt to replace Lions Club's Constitution

Below is the Past Presidents Constitution that was attempted to be filed in with ROS. It goes contrary to the Lions International Standard Constitution and By-Laws.

Here are some relevant points from the new set of Rules and Constitution of LCKK Host. The underlining is made by me. My comments are in red. 

Before and after Past Presidents’ Council was formed

                 

Before the Past Presidents Council was formed in 2000 all expenses of entertaining foreign visitors were shared by members of the club. The president of the year will collect funds from members to defray the cost of entertaining foreign visitors.

Manipulation of minutes of Board of Directors/ Regular Meetings

On 17.6.2016 a Pre-Board meeting was held and chaired by Ln Thomas Ho.

At the meeting one of the points Ln Thomas Ho had brought up for implementation was to do away with the existing Whatsapp Group and replace it with another Whatsapp group. His reasoning was that some members had left the group thus requiring a new group. He had suggested a new Whatapp group name which I cannot recall.

I was surprised that no one said anything at all. At a subsequent fellowship gathering after the BOD meeting Ln CC Pung had suggested to Ln Delce that a better idea would be to keep that same group and bring back all those who had left.
