“Hang a sheep's head while selling dog meat”

Continuing from my previous post -

Here are a few more paragraphs from the email sent by John SF Ho.

“The police in Bukit Aman and Travers have already advised me to initiate legal action against LM for these allegations. I am holding back because I doubt he has enough money to pay if he loses.”

My comment now: The only thing correct in the above paragraph is the correct use of the word ‘if’.

What picture is he trying to portray? The heading I have chosen for this post is perfect. It is a Chinese proverb which I learned only recently:  挂 羊 狗 肉 - guà yáng tóu mài gǒuròu.

“LCI’s comments on this are appropriate. “ If YOU BELIEVE that KK Host is mishandling club accounts, ask the District Leadership to review the matter” Surely then the District Leadership should ask for evidence from LM instead of calling for meetings to listen to stories.”

My comment now: I gave three sets comprising covering letter together with a small bundle of 18 pages documents to DG Eve Wong together with the requisite amount for CDRP. I did this in the presence of another President of a Local Lions Club. Eve Wong said she will collect the money after speaking with Thomas Ho and John Ho but did not turn up as she had been influenced by this demeaning email from John Ho.

Had we had a meeting as requested by Horace Ho Toh Chee between Thomas Ho Thau Phin and me or had the Past President Council headed by Norman Lie Chin Man sat down with me with a genuine intention to resolve this problem we will not be at this juncture. Even about 3 days before the Special Meeting was called Dr. Arabi Wazani initiated on his own a peace making gesture with me which was accepted without any preconditions whatsoever but Thomas Ho was not prepared to consider.

What should LCI have done when I subsequently wrote emails to them?

I will write to district leaders to make a change in LCI’s rules/constitution, by-laws or whatever to ensure that if matters are not handled by District Leadership LCI should appoint a conciliator and see it to the end.

“LCI’s comments on his expulsion are also appropriate. “If YOU BELIEVE that your removal is unjustified, file a complaint under CDRP.” Just ask him to do that. He did not even attend the special meeting to present his case when he was accorded that opportunity to do so.”

Let us get this straight – I had written an email to all members asking them to put right matters that needed to be corrected with ROS and to answer my question on whether there were more bank accounts than the two that had been given to the BOD. I had specifically said that I will not attend the EGM unless these conditions were fulfilled.

Here are a few of the matters I wanted the club to sort out:

“ROS does not have Thomas as President even as of 30.12.2016. The President as per records in the ROS is Carol Lo Phit Hah.

I believe these meetings signed by Thomas as President is void. So is the meeting to be chaired by Thomas on 3.1.2017.

I have requested for this matter to be updated in ROS before the meeting on 3.1.2017 but John Ho still insists that it is the fault of ROS as the Minutes of the AGM has been filed.

I am not asking for the Special Meeting not to be held but hold it after all matters has been updated in the ROS. Do not keep getting into deeper trouble.

Please telephone ROS, if you don’t have the time to make a visit, and ask as to who is the current president of LCKKHost before pointing the fingers at me.

This is why we have been calling ourselves as LCKKHost when the name was only approved on 23.11.2016. It is because of John Ho who did not take heed.”

Furthermore I had been warned that if I were to talk on any matter other than those mentioned in the ‘Notes on the meeting’ I will be escorted out of the room.

To put it mildly it is baffling that so called educated people like Arabi Wazani, Muthusamy, Lie Chin Man, Horace Ho, Chin Chee Thau, CCPung (our in-house Robert’s Rules expert), Joseph Chai  and the rest did not object to such conditions imposed by John Ho.

There is also a provision in the Societies Act for resolution of disputes. We will cross this bridge when we arrive.
