Luqman Michel Nai Seng Tan, the grants from LCIF are always FAR LESS than the actual cost of the water projects/hostel. So how can there ever be any unused LCIF grants? LCIF requires a full report and the financial statements of every funded project after its completion. LCIF has never questioned KK Host on the financial statements submitted and they still continue to fund KK Host water projects for over 10 years now. What does that tell you? It is not KK Host and its members who do not understand simple English; it is you who do not understand simple maths and logic!
My comment: I was responding to a newspaper report that had said the following:
The funds for our Rural Water Projects and the Hostel for needy students come from our joint project partners, an overseas Lions Club and from Lions Club International.“For all these projects, all funds shortages or excesses are for the account of our club” he (Francis Liew) said.
I had posted a note in my post as follows:
Note: The gravity water project is jointly funded by a Japanese Sister Club and LCIF together with other foreign and local donations.
My comment now: If funds are received from overseas grants and donations and from local donations and the funds are banked into one of the extra bank accounts how do we differentiate which part of the funds have been utilised and which part has not?
The fat lady has yet to sing! Let us wait
patiently.
