Response to a comment in my Facebook post

A president of another club. President Ctv Chong, who shared my post had commented: “This is the same thing as you wrote one year ago. Do you have any proof? Give us the proof and we will give you the support.”

I had given him a long list of proofs but in addition I would like to ask him and other Lions anywhere in the world the following which is in my blog.

Here are some relevant parts of the minutes of meeting Dated    : 03^rd January, 2017

LM had endlessly cast very serious aspersion on KK Host over the last 6 months with various allegations and accusations of wrong doings by our club without producing even a shred of evidence and simply based on hearsay. PDG John Ho listed 8 instances when it was alleged that:-

1.      Our Club is not registered with ROS (5.45am on 9 Dec);

My comment now: You want proof go to ROS and find out.

2.      Manipulation of minutes (5.50am on 3 Nov) and fabricating minutes is a criminal offence and all directors will be questioned (5.10am on 8 Nov);

My comment now: I have given the proof in my blog – Actual email from Francis Liew confirming that the minutes were asked to be changed by Thomas Ho Thau Phin. Want proof? Ask Francis Liew.

3.      Mysterious bank accounts (3.20am on 12 Dec) and implicating KK Host as carrying out Money Laundering (5.21am on 14 Dec). He says “I believe this is possible”. He also insinuates misappropriation of funds;

My comment now: PP Joseph Chai (JP) had said at one of the subsequent BOD meetings that there are 5 bank accounts. Any Lion is welcome to telephone and ask him if he had said this at the BOD meeting. Ask him as to why this fact was not recorded in the minutes of meeting.

4.      Breach of Lions Constitution, Laws of the country including Bank Negara and ROS rules and regulations (4.56am on 16 Dec);

My comment now: It has now been confirmed by Joseph Chai that there are accounts in Alliance bank under the name Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu Host and bank accounts in Hong Leong Bank under the name Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu. If this is not breach of Bank Negara Rules then what is? Can you have accounts in two different names for one and the same club?

If bank accounts are not disclosed to ROS is that not breach of ROS rules?

Not listing my name as director for 2015/2016 is that not breach of ROS rules?

John Ho had forgotten about The Societies Act. Many of the rules of the Society Act have been broken.

We all know that money coming into the country from outside Malaysia must be reported to ROS. Please ask our treasurer, Joseph Chai, who is an ex-banker who ought to know the banking laws as to whether monies received from overseas was reported to ROS. Mr. Ctv Chong, you want proof? Ask Joseph Chai.

5.      Dirty things KK Host members have done and sordid state of affairs in KK Host (10.49am on 13 Dec); Sordid means immoral/dishonorable actions and motives;

My comment now:Is not disclosing bank accounts and fixed deposit which have all been confirmed by Joseph Chai (JP) not immoral action?

Aiyaa, is not disclosing bank accounts to the members a dishonorable act?

There are a few additional points I contend with:

1.      Don’t the Lions know that proper notice, written hard copies, should be sent to all members before an EGM? Ask Francis Liew if this was done.

2.      Don’t the Lions know that the ROS computer has to be updated by the secretary? Ask Francis Liew why this was not done.

3.      Why was there no show cause letter issued? Ask Francis Liew.

4.      We have experts in my club who talk and give talks on Robert’s Rules but don’t know that they don’t know about voting as per Article V of constitution and by-laws of my club. Many of the guys who voted have no right to vote.
