Hindsight

Hindsight the ability  to understand, after something has happened, why or how it was done and how it might have been done better.

Here is a post from 2016, November 13th.

Here is an extract from a post by a friend. I hope my friends from my club will meditate upon it and try to understand my stand on some important matters.
"Having a passion means to have such an intense grip on a problem you can’t stop thinking about solving; it means learning about and spending time with that problem as much as possible, and as long as it takes for ideas to manifest on how you might go about finding a solution. "

Lions Club Revival?

 Wolves Among Lions
After more than one and a half years of being expelled from the Lions club of Kota Kinabalu Host a few more Lion members have accepted the fact that what I did is acceptable. So, I am not sure if this post will be welcome. But then again it would not be Luqman to shut up and do nothing about something that will hurt many members. Do I care what others think?

Lions Club - I am baffled

I am still baffled by what I had heard from Lions Club International. If there are any Lions reading this please educate me.

History repeats

No matter what has happened most people do not learn and therefore few things ever change.
For instance, John SF Ho has been spinning yarns from as early as July 2016 and yet many clowns still believe him up until today. They still believe that the deregistered club will be restored.  These clowns believe that John Ho’s appeal to Home Affairs minister will be looked into and the order by Registry of Societies to deregister the club will be reversed.

I regret to note that you have ignored my emails to you just like what LCKKHost had done which ultimately led to the club's registration.

I have written an email to the District Governor of District 308A2 today (6.9.2018)

Request to district Governor to clear my name

Here is a link to 'Wolves among Lions'

There are still many Lions who think that I am the cause of Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu being deregistered when in fact it was the misappropriation of funds from the club by John SF Ho and many of the Past Presidents of the Past President council.

I wrote an email to the DG Tiong, the VDG and a number of the PDG's. Now, that I have had no response I shall write to ROS as promised in my email as shown below.

Conversation with a Lion - Alexander Lich 6.8.2018

Here is one of the many links from which you may buy the above book :

Alexander is the Lion who manages Parrsboro Lions Club FB page.

This morning I saw a message on my FaceBook page and decided to engage in a conversation and here is the conversation in full.

Alexander: I understand you may feel frustrated and upset, however, one club's actions do not reflect the entire organisation.

Lions Club International - My emails and responses

I am baffled by the recent response from Lions Club International to my emails.

Here is my 3rd email to LCI since the de-registration of Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu host.

Response to a comment on De registration (Part 2)

Here is the comment and my response.

Diane Carmelia:  Luqman, the answer to your question could be derived from the position taken by LCI legal division in this attached email reply on the same matter of a deregistered club.

I looked at the response from LCI’s Mr. David Kingsbury (Attorney for LCI) shared by Diane and don’t have much to say.

Response to a comment on De registration (Part 1)

Here is the comment and my response.
Diane Carmelia:  Luqman, the answer to your question could be derived from the position taken by LCI legal division in this attached email reply on the same matter of a deregistered club.

Their position is one that clearly says as long as, LCI requirements are met, one is a lion member with full rights. The email clearly passed the burden of registration/deregistration back to the District and/or the Multitude District, UNFORTUNATELY !

My Response: None of the District leaders knew what to do when I complained about misappropriation of funds and manipulation of minutes’ by LCKKHost. This only goes to show, like Diane has pointed in her comment, that many are NOT qualified to hold high positions in the lion’s movement.

I had taken the trouble to telephone our current DG Tiong Yong Tiing and advised him not to appoint anyone from Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu Host as cabinet officers until the case has been resolved with ROS. What motive could I have had other than to prevent any further embarrassment?  After listening to me he still went ahead and appointed 2 members from the club. What qualification does one need to think logically?

As for LCI requirements being met, I did inform LCI that funds have been misappropriated by club members. Did LCI err when they did not place LCKKHost under status quo when Lions clubs may be placed in the following categories of status quo:

Failure to comply with the purposes of the association, or conduct unbecoming a Lions club, such as, but not limited to, failure to solve club disputes or involvement in litigation.

The club is non-existing or fictitious.

Misappropriation of funds and distortion of minutes of meetings, I believe, will fall under ‘conduct unbecoming of a Lions Club’.

As for ‘non existence or fictitious club’ LCKKHost clearly falls under this category. The club was operating under the name 'LCKKHost' long before the name was approved by ROS in 2016.

LCI legal division TOTALLY ignored the fact (despite being provided with full Malaysian Societies Act 1966 provisions) that the members of an unregistered / deregistered society are ILLEGAL members of an ILLEGAL society (club).

Since D308 A-2 is a duly registered society made up of duly registered lions clubs, it is AGAINST the Societies Act 1966 for them to even allow the unregistered /deregistered club and/or members to join their activities, and definitely NOT to appoint any member of an ILLEGAL club to be a office bearer of D308 A2 which is under the jurisdiction of ROS.

My Response: The secretary of the club Francis Liew was the one who took the letter from ROS and yet I believe he went up the stage, on the same day he collected the letter, to collect some awards given out by DG Pelly Lee.
1. Why did he not inform Pelly Lee about the letter?
2. Which members of the club knew about the letter he collected from ROS?
3. How was the First BOD meeting conducted by the club in July 2018 when the club was de registered on 28.6.2018?
4. Another meeting was held on 17.7.2018. Were the two meetings not illegal meetings that can be acted upon by the police?

In your case previously, the then DG should have just referred the matter to the District Chairperson for Constitution and Bylaws and let that person handle it first. However, the DC for CBL was made redundant in his capacity!  It just goes to show that many are NOT qualified, academic qualification not withstanding, to hold high offices in the lions movement. Period.

Response: I think Diane has said it all.

Denial mode

Why are many members of Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu in denial mode? Why are they refusing to accept reality or fact?

Lions Motto - "We serve" - What does it mean?

These two emails are the last two communication between LCI and me. LCI has categorically told me that they will not communicate with me.

But then there are many other avenues to seek a solution and to put things right.

Lions all over the world should learn that they cannot sweep things under the carpet. Clubs should realise that there are Lions including Lions who have been expelled who actually live by the motto"We serve" and they do not follow the crowd.

The following is my last email to LCI and LCI's response. LCI did not address the many questions I had raised in my email posted in my last article and neither have they tried to see the logic in this email - my last email-  to them.

I will tag other Lions and see if they have any comments.

The Arrogance and stupidity of Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu host

Why did the LCKKHost members write to the Daily Express and lie through their teeth? I believe when people become arrogant they act stupidly like LCKKHost did.

It was when the LCKKHost wrote in response to the article in Daily Express that I realized that the person who had written to the newspaper had lied to the police and why the police had decided not to investigate my complaint any further.

I decided to write to LCIF in February 2018 and LCI responded to my mails.

Turning Point & Surprise News

This morning when I went into Face Book the first item I read was the one posted by President elect of Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Host - LCKLHost - (sister club of LCKKHost) Ln. Lawrence Ang.

Lawrence Ang: “This is the turning point of the century as we welcome Lion Gudrun of Iceland as the first female Lions Club International President 2018-19.”

Not everything that glitters is gold.

The first paragraph in the above citation has no relevance to Pelly Lee. The two things there that relate to Pelly Lee are:

Fellowship seeker and excellent performer if it refers to walking on the stage that is.

What path did she find when I wrote to her while she was still a VDG and again when she was a DG. She did not even respond to emails.

Earth shaker? What did she shake other than the noise her footsteps make?

The biggest lie is that she is a Trouble –Shooter. The dictionary defines Trouble shooter as: an expert in resolving disputes and a person skilled at solving or anticipating problems or difficulties.
Forget about anticipating problems. Did she anticipate this article before writing those lies in the citation above? She could not even sit down with me and find out about the many issues I reported to her via many emails. If she has tried solving problems would 14 members have resigned from the oldest and largest club in Sabah?

How can one say ‘capable and committed DG’ when she had no time to even call me and discuss the many issues I had brought to her in my email? (For those who are not aware she lives just about 10 minutes drive from my house.)

What nonsense is this about Pelly Lee daring to speak out on matters which are not right? Is misappropriation of funds from a club right? She did not speak out about that.

Is manipulation of minutes by the secretary right? I don’t remember she speaking out about that either?

So who is this Lion or is it Liar who has written this citation?

Is Pelly Lee a district governor with people at heart? What am I then? Am I not a person? I was expelled with trumped up charges including falsification of a letter purportedly written by an International figure Mr.Kim Goldsworthy and what did she do about it?

Aiyooyoo, there should be a limit to telling lies. When did she stand firm and correct thing she ought to know were incorrect as far as my complaints to her were concerned?

Yes, finally something I have to agree with; I will definitely REMEMDER her for screwing up life as a Lion in Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu Host or was it Lions Club of Kota Kinabalu? She screwed up my life with her inaction.

This also reminds me of something I heard where RM5000 was made as a campaign promise to each region in MD308A2. Friends believe that that was the promise that could have edged out Dr. Gan by a mere 4votes. Was this promise fulfilled? Can someone please ask Pelly Lee to at least speak out on this promise and confirm or deny if this promise was made?

Emails to LCI after my expulsion from Lions Club

The following are emails to and fro Luqman/ LCI after my expulsion in January 2017.

I thought that once I had complained while I am a member; complaints after being expelled will still be entertained.

Response to Barry Palmer's comment in his post

This post is in response to Barry Palmer’s comments that there is a process on how to complain to LCI. (Refer to my post yesterday)

Have I followed the process or has LCI blundered? Let us hope Barry Palmer of Lions International will shed some light.

I was a member until 17.1.2017 which means I had Locus Standi until that date.

Barry Palmer and his FaceBook post

The following is a post by Barry Palmer in his Face Book page. He is the first and only International President (Now past president) to come from Australia.

I have noticed we seem to like jokes, videos or lighthearted stuff to forget about life for awhile more than the deep and meaningful.

Rotary International 4 way test

The four questions above make up the Rotary 4-way test. By knowing and using this test, in any charitable organization we could all become better people, but first we must understand what each question means. Let us deal with only the first:

                                                        “Is it the TRUTH?”

Think before you donate

The above is copied from a post by  Lawrence Ang, president elect of Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Host. I am not sure if any of the above is true. I only know that my former Lions club did not use 100% of donation received for charity work.

Barry Palmer - Past International President of LCI

I have been a Facebook friend of Past International President (IP) Barry Palmer for quite a while now. He is the first and only IP of Lions Club International from Down Under.

The above photo was shared by Barry on his Facebook and the following are comments on his Facebook.

I hope to continue this discussion with him to see how this problem I had with LCI should have been handled.
